Kimberly Mosberg

Kimberly Mosberg has been practicing law in Chicago since 1996. She has extensive experience acting as both in-house general counsel and providing independent legal services as principal of her firm, KB LAW.

Ms. Mosberg was an Assistant Corporation Counsel (ACC) for the City of Chicago for seven years. Ms. Mosberg represented the City of Chicago as a Prosecutor dealing with ordinance violations, municipal licensing, residential and commercial permitting, and Code violation matters.  She acted as a frequent trainer for the Chicago Police Department on the Municipal Code and to Community groups. As an ACC, Ms. Mosberg also defended Federal Civil Rights cases and complex multi-million dollar complex litigation. In 2004 Ms. Mosberg was appointed to the position of First Deputy Building Commissioner and Chief Counsel for the Department of Buildings by Mayor Richard M. Daley. Ms. Mosberg managed over 300 employees and developed an expertise in the Chicago Building Code. Ms. Mosberg has lectured and provided training to Chicago liquor license holders in best business practices, sexual harassment prevention and bystander training. After leaving the City employ, Ms. Mosberg acted as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for a boutique Real Estate Development company, CG Development. Ms. Mosberg provided all the in-house counsel services including establishing the business processes, creating and enforcing all employment policies, negotiating real estate transactions, writing and enforcing leases, running day-to-day operations, managing all internet and media policies, representing the company in litigation, and performing other legal services as needed. Mosberg has worked extensively as a liaison to outside law firms and received several awards for her legal work and philanthropy.
